Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and sport form of self defense that focuses on grappling.  It was derived from the Japanese martial arts of kodokan Judo and Jiu Jitsu.

It promotes the principle that a smaller weaker person can successfully defend oneself against a bigger, stronger opponent using leverage and proper technique.
